Reverend Arnold Porter

My Story

The Reverend Arnold Porter was born in Ocala, Fl and raised in West Palm Beach, FL. He matriculated through The Bethune-Cookman University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology; while at Bethune, Reverend Porter was a proud member of the Marching Wildcats. Later in life he matriculated through St. Thomas University earning a Master of Divinity Degree.

 

Reverend Porter was ordained a Deacon in the African Methodist Episcopal Church in September 1997 by Bishop Frank Curtis Cummings and an Itinerant Elder in October 2000 by Senior Bishop John Hurst Adams. He is currently the Dean of Institute for Ministerial Studies of the Orlando District and a member of the Central Conference Board of Examiners.

 

In addition to pastoring, he is employed at Orlando Health as a Clinical Chaplain. Reverend Porter is actively involved in community organizations such as The United Way of Central Florida and the Orange County School Board's Additions Volunteer Program. He has received numerous awards and recognitions from the City of Orlando, Women's Missionary Society of the A.M.E. Church, Boy Scouts of America and the Distinguish Partners in Excellence Award from the Walt Disney World Resorts Corporation. He is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and his interest includes the culinary arts, gardening and reading.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He is currently the Servant Leader/Senior Pastor at Ward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Winter Park, FL. Reverend Arnold Alexander Porter is married to Brenda T. and they have two adult children, Torri and Bradley.
